A man from Tinglayan, Kalinga was recently arrested when policemen found a large duffle bag of Marijuana. But unlike many caught traffickers out there, this guy tried to use a selling technique known as Benefit Selling technique.
Here's how he tried to use benefit selling:
...it can eradicate anxiety, depression, low self esteem, it (will) make you s creative, talaga! Tapos hindi lang (yan), ang hemp plant kayang mag produce ng oil, at saka, damit. So, ang isa pang pinaka brighter side neto, ang Pilipinas, u-unlad, kayang maging one-is to-one ang Peso to Dollar, you wanna know why? Because ito yung magiging, uh, port of exchange. So, para magkaroon tayo ng mga imported goods for our industry, kailangan nating makipag palitan ng Marijuana natin na hindi tumutubo sa bansa nila, na sa atin lang tumutubo.
Social media was quick praising the man about his passion and dedication to his business. Netizens praised him for being a good salesman. So what makes him a good salesman and what makes him bad? Let's assume first that he is selling something legal here. Well, points for him for being passionate about his product. But other than that, he started with all the benefits before the features. He should have started with this:
There are two types of Marijuana, Sativa and Indica. I'm selling Sativa because it's less addicting but it can greatly help with anxiety, depression and low self esteem...
Also, he first mentioned Hemp. Although belonging to the Cannabis family, Hemp is different from Marijuana. Hemp is totally different from marijuana in its function, cultivation an, application. He got it right when he said that Hemp can produce oil and textile. In fact, Hemp is used for automobiles, body care, clothing, construction, food, plastic, etc. But the problem is, what is he really selling? Hemp or Marijuana?
At the end of the video, he stated that he will fight to make Marijuana legal in the Philippines. Good luck with that, buddy!
